Individual arrivals from abroad into Manaus. Meet & Greet. Transfer to the Tropical Hotel at the riverbank of the Amazon River. Check In and introduction to Mo, the expedition team and the program. Dinner in the hotel.

Day 02 – Tabatinga巴西 塔巴廷加, Leticia哥倫比亞 萊蒂西亞
Domestic flight to Tabatinga and transfer to the M/S Dorinha (or similar), our home for the next days. After accommodation we take our longboats to the Colombian town of Leticia for exciting shopping. Handicrafts from the Indians in Peru, Colombia and Brazil are found here. Some examples are: blowguns, ceremonial masks, bows and arrows and tapa cloths, necklaces, silver jewelry from Peru, emeralds from Colombia and a thousand other things. In Leticia all currency is accepted. We board our canoes on the way back to our ship and we cross the river 1.2 miles to the village of Santa Rosa in Peru where we celebrate the beginning of this lifetime trip on a beautiful, typical bar built in a Ceiba tree. Dinner on board while starting our cruise down the mighty Amazon.

In the morning we explore the Takana River where we will have our first contact with the Tikuna Indians. We are guided by two young Tikuna men who lead us deep into this pristine forest. Just a morrow clear water river which is a very good place for birds, monkeys butterflies and a fantastic forest where we will take a wonderful walk. Visit with the Indians who live deep in the forest who have little contact with white men.

This early morning we visit the Tikunas village of Vendaval. That ́s the best place for shopping for handicrafts: masks, necklaces, beautiful wood carvings and an opportunity for us to learn more about the Indians culture. This afternoon, we are sightseeing at Lago São Paulo exploring for birds, beautiful penetration in the igarapés, with a lake. Tonight again we take out small boats with a special light to watch the nocturnal life: alligators, snakes, sloths and birds.

In the morning, we will visit the old missionary town of São Cristovão do Amatura. We continue visiting this area going up to the Amatura Lake to explore, swim and fish. This is a Lake with very clear water and beautiful sand banks. It is also a Tikuna Indian area.

After having cruised during the night we will be in contact with the caboclos in the beautiful little old town of Tonantins. After our village tour, we will go up to the many lakes and river of the same name. This are beautiful lakes with very clear water where we will spend the whole morning for our activities. This afternoon we travel down the Amazon River just enjoying the scenery passing by.

Day 07 & 08 – Jutai Rives朱泰伊河
We are the mouth of the Jutai Rives. We stop in the small town of Foz de Jutai walking around and visit with the people while town of Foz de Jutai walking around and visit with the people while our boat is refueled. Afterwards we go upriver for a very busy time, since this place is one of the richest areas in wildlife, We go to a tributary of this river called Capatana where we have to stop several times to avoid hitting the alligators in the middle of the river. We hope to leave here with one of the greatest experiences of our lives. We ́ll see how it goes, taking the time needed to enjoy it. Of course tonight will be fantastic with our special lights.

We have cruised the night and we are in Campina, twenty miles upstream from the town of Fonte Boa. This is a savannah like area with opportunity to see many many birds. As we go up this very shallow water with difficult navigation we have a better opportunity for birding. We are taking along our fishing lines to catch and see many different kinds of fishes.

We are in front of the town of Tefé, the old village of Ega, where the very famous naturalist, Bates lived for many years, a hundred and fifty years ago and described this area so well. We are behind some islands where we dedicate our time seeing sloths and monkeys. That is the best palace on the whole Solimões for this activity.

Day 13 – Bedajos River
Today we ́ll explore the area of the Bedajos River. This is a place with the largest number of rubber trees. We ́ll visit some of those places and we ́ll see how people tap and smoke them to send to the factories in Manaus

Day 16 – Pagodao, Rio Cuieras帕伽丹 葫芦河
Early morning birding tour at the small river of Pagodao. Sense being in the real jungle. Enjoy a cool, refreshing swim in the safe waters of the Rio Negro.
Look out for dolphins, the Rio Negro give quite good opportunities to see them. We motor up the Rio Cuieras to observe another kind of forest, the campinha, with scrubby trees, terrestrial orchids and bromelias, and lichens growing on the white sand.
Enjoy a special arranged BBQ on one of the sandy beaches by a large firelight. This night you may choose sleeping in a typical hammock in a covered shelter on shore.

The next 2 days we will be into the four hundred island district of Anavilhanas. This is one of the largest fluvial archipelagos in the world. The area is known for the abundance of birds such as toucans, parrots and macaws.
We take you on canoe rides among the islands for seeing birds and other animals. An evening canoe exploration allows us to seek nocturnal life.
Also visit of Novo Airao, the town where the typical Amazon ships are being built.
